The Black Beauty Eggplant is a plant of the Solanaceae family, has medium length internodes, large oval adult leaf. The fruit is delicious, large (diameter 10/15 cm, length about 15/18 cm) with a rounded shape tending to oval, dark purple in colour, glossy, uniform, with white pulp, with few seeds.
It needs a warm temperate climate, with a sunny, warm exposure sheltered from the winds; the optimal temperature for growth is between 22°C and 24°C, and a minimum of 15°C. The ideal soil has a pH of 6.5/7; it prefers that of medium texture which tends to be loose, fresh, fertile and well drained.
Protected sowing can be done in February / March, open sowing in April / June, harvesting from June to September.
