The Baby Bottle Gourd is both edible and ornamental Pumpkin. It is the only Pumpkin present in the old continent before the discovery of America, where instead all the Pumpkins of the genus Cucurbita come from, Pliny also speaks of the Legenaria stating that it resembled Cucumber. In the kitchen, the Legenaries are eaten as you would with a Zucchini when the fruit is still young, as it is tastier. In the non-culinary field, the shells of this nice Pumpkin are used as containers in which to store and transport water, wine and other liquids, they can also be used to manufacture rudimentary musical instruments.
