The Buena Mulata is a beautiful Chili Pepper of the Capsicum Annuum species native to Nicaragua in Latin America. It develops a plant with many branches, about one meter high, the stem tends to be thin, the leaves are long and with that typical color ranging from dark green to purple, the flowers are purple. The flavor of this Chilli is very particular, sweet and juicy with an aftertaste reminiscent of wild berries. This fantastic Pepper was discovered accidentally, therefore not purposely crossed, by an African American folk singer in the 30s, since then it has been used in many recipes of Caribbean dishes and to make the traditional Salsa Morada, when the pods are still purple and not fully ripened, in fact when they mature they turn red.
